Jim Van Ingen

The Challenges
Due to its typical cyclicity, the automotive industry has had eight to ten years of growth followed by one to three years of decline and then another eight to ten years of growth. Jim’s goal was to be on a leadership position of a company in the automotive industry and to quickly achieve enhancement of the company’s profitability and management team.
How BlackmoreConnects™ helped
Jim joined us October 2019 as a Gold Member after taking a year off trying to do his own thing and get connected in Private Equity himself. He returned after one year saying he couldn’t get things moving and decided to joined the Gold membership. The BMC Team performed extensive searches for PE firms with an investment focus on the automotive industry, creating relationship opportunities for Jim. As a result, Jim is now the General Manager of USA and Mexico.
BMC provides great opportunities for Jim to network with private equity firms and listen to educational panels on private equity trends. He had the chance to network with seven private equity firms in October 2019 and six in December 2019 to discuss his investment thesis.
Currently, Jim works as an Operating Partner for an automotive PE backed company after joining BlackmoreConnects™
